Elique Organics was founded on a simple but rare belief: that skin must be nourished and protected not continually stripped, overstimulated, or challenged. The vision was to offer a counterbalance to the onslaught of aggressive actives dominating modern routines, and to nourish, and restore the skin’s equilibrium, and resilience with plant-based skin nutrition. Just recently, it seems the industry is catching up.
As early as 1991, her research revealed how repeated ingredient exposure and over-processing compromised the skin’s defenses, with cumulative effects on overall skin and endocrine health over time. In response, she made a deliberate decision to create products that “built the surface immunity of the skin”, language that articulated what is now commonly referred to as barrier repair, long before it became industry shorthand.
At the core of Elique is a trust in nature in her least processed form. Our role is to protect the integrity of these materials and apply them with skill and intention, to keep our footprint light, and partner with retailers who share our values.
Every Elique Organics ingredient is sourced in collaboration with the natural world and the people who steward it. Our relationships with farmers, distillers, beekeepers, and suppliers are long-standing and values-driven, grounded in ethics, patience, and respect for living systems.
Plant oils are the foundation of Elique Organics. We are especially devoted to seed oils. When left unrefined, they are among nature’s most potent skin foods, rich in essential fatty acids that nourish skin in need of barrier repair, and antioxidants that strengthen and restore balance. Most commercial seed oils are stripped of these benefits. Ours are not.
Our honey is sourced from a treatment-free beekeeper in the pristine Los Padres National Forest.
We strictly prohibit the use of royal jelly. It is the Queen Bee’s sole food source, and harvesting it weakens the hive. We do not compromise bee health—ever.
Our hydrosols are sourced from three trusted distillers in the western U.S. and France, two of which we’ve partnered with for close to 20 years. We trust them for their sterile process from distillation to bottling, and no added preservatives. Handled properly, true hydrosols can retain their vitality and longevity for years.
Our creams are preserved using our own blend of antioxidants, honeys, and self-preserving ingredients, all of which have passed preservative challenge testing. We intentionally avoid most natural emulsifiers, which are often palm oil–based and tied to deforestation and unethical supply chains. Instead, our emulsions rely on years of formulation discipline, resulting in creams that are as luxurious and creamy as we originally envisioned, and praised for their feel and performance.
